Mount Ida made a very favourable impression when taking the opening division of the four-year-old maiden at Tattersalls in the hands of Mark O’Hare. The daughter of Yeats finished a fine fourth on her debut at Moig South last month and took a nice step forward here. Always to the fore of proceedings the good jumping sort, pulled clear of the field with another decent prospect, ultimately winning by four lengths. There was a further break of twenty lengths back to the third who had previously only been beaten a neck at The Pigeons. A half-sister to Sizing Tennesse this likable sort could prove to be a very smart mare under rules.
