Colin Motherway’s charge, Chazza, got off the mark at the third time of asking when taking the opening division of the four-year-old maiden at Lingstown. The son of Mahler bounced out and set a decent gallop under Luke Murphy, jumping accurately throughout. The bay quickened up well in the closing stages to record a very comfortable five-length success. This was a smart performance as there were a number of well thought of sorts in behind and the winning time was six seconds faster than the days average. A half-brother to the 133 rated Westland Row, this gelding looks like a candidate to make a smart performer under rules, as he is certainly not short of pace.
