Voyage De Retour took the five-year-old geldings at Knockinroe on his seasonal reappearance having had two previous runs in the spring where he had finished fourth and fifth. Tracking the leaders throughout, Voyage De Retour took up the lead the lead from the penultimate obstacle where he stayed on gamely in the testing conditions to win by five lengths. Out of a winning bumper mare in Taipers who is a half-sister to the Grade 2 placed Crash, Voyage De Retour is also from the family of the Aintree Grand National runner-up The Last Samuri and the dual Grade 3 winner, Saxophone and looks like a horse that could provide plenty of entertainment for his new connections.
