The winner Oak Grove had been placed on debut and is closely related to Voler La Vodette and Shishkin while the runner up had been second on his previous start also. This was a well contested thirteen runner maiden and this fellow was the first debutante home which is a notable feat at this stage of the season where experience can meet debutantes often. He is from the family of Battlecry, Value At Risk and Miss Orchestra and should be a strong staying type as time passes also.
