Blackwell Bay made a most encouraging debut when placed 2nd in the Tattersalls Cheltenham sponsored Maiden point to point at Mollington on 10th April. The striking, scopey son of Carlotamix jumped with aplomb for the majority of the contest but made a novicey error 6 from home which checked his momentum. He recovered well and stayed on in very taking style after the last to press the highly regarded Scotch On Da Rocks all the way to the line. The first two home in this race rate very exciting recruits.
