Éclair On Line got off the mark at the second time of asking when taking the five-year-old geldings’ maiden at Loughbrickland at the second time of asking. The French-bred son of Dream Well stepped up on his debut at Portrush to run out a comprehensive eight-length winner here. Ridden in mid division, the gelding made smooth progress down along the back, before picking up the advantage on the run to the final fence. The grey readily quickened away to the line, recording a comprehensive success. This likable type is clearly on the improve and could well be a progressive sort under rules.
