Devito’s Red Robin heads to the sales following her maiden success on her latest start in a five-year-old mares’ maiden at Durrow in March on what was her third start between the flags. Devito’s Red Robin made her debut at Punchestown in February where she excited the race at the final fence when sitting behind the leaders. Benefiting from that experience gained, the daughter of Robin Des Champs then finished runner-up at Ballyarthur having made most of the running in what was very testing ground conditions. Having stepped up well on her initial two starts, Devito’s Red Robin tracked the leaders throughout and produced a strong challenge at the penultimate fence where she was then hampered approaching the final obstacle but ran and well to finish just half a length behind the winner. Following a steward’s enquiry Devito’s Red Robin was awarded the race. This consistent mare is out of a half-sister to the Grade one winner, More Of That as well as Santenay and Eastlake. From a high class family, Devito’s Red Robin has shown a likeable attitude and looks like a mare that will be a real addition to any trainer’s yard in mares’ races over the coming seasons.
