Clash Of D Titans looked an exciting type when finishing second on debut at Courtown recently. Anchored towards the rear of the field with a patient ride, the Gold Well gelding was a real eye-catcher and made steady progress throughout. Sent in pursuit of the winner and long-time leader, he was unable to catch him but stuck to his task gamely and was only beaten by two and a half lengths at the line. His conqueror was the form horse of the race having finished third in a very competitive Lingstown maiden a month earlier and that experience would have been advantageous. Maiden success appears to be just around the corner.
